Philosophy of education and its objectives
The philosophy of education in the Kingdom stems from the Jordanian Constitution, Arab-Islamic civilization, the principles of the Great Arab Revolt, and the Jordanian national experience. This philosophy is embodied in the following foundations
Basic Education
Basic Education is a 10-year compulsory and free level of education (grades 1-10). Study books are standard books distributed by MOE. Education is compulsory for all through the age of sixteen
UNRWA in Jordan
Operates one of the largest school systems in the Middle East which has provided basic and preparatory education to Palestinian refugees for nearly five decades
Secondary education
Students in this education level, choosing the scientific stream, are required to take nine subjects: Arabic, English, mathematics, computer studies, geology and environment, chemistry, biology, physics and cultural studies
Curriculum in Schools
The curriculum in Jordanian schools is structured to provide a comprehensive education that includes a variety of subjects designed to prepare students for both higher education and the workforce

Darsak platform is a Jordanian free-of-charge education platform that provides students with online video educational materials which is organized and scheduled according to the Jordanian educational curriculum

Some universities follow German and French systems. The German leads to a Magister degree, the French to a DEA degree. Teacher education is part of the university system. All teachers must obtain a Bachelor, secondary teachers must in addition pass one more year of study to obtain the Higher Diploma in Education. |
